10/2015 - 11/2015READY FOR A SECOND BIG BANG?
A fluorescent energy is coming to earth on two wheels: it’s the new Yamaha MT-10.
"Imagining a new exciting ride on the MT10 we explored once again ‘The Dark Side of Japan’, this time visualizing a trippy dimension inspired by 70's low-fi Japanese science fiction movies. But we also enjoyed sampling little elements from some dream-like cinema that we love… (from old classics like Kubrick’s 2001 - A Space Odyssey to more recent visions like Under my Skin by Jonathan Glazer.)"

The fluo element
Shot between Tokyo and Copenhagen, this second instalment of The Dark Side of Japan saga is a psychedelic trip that starts with a Big Bang. Born into a new, surreal world, fluorescent energy flows through the streets of the city on two wheels, awakening strange subcultures.
Propelled into the future on two wheels
Exploring the city, feeling the freedom of the bike, sensing its power. This is a new time, a dark futuristic world filled with beautiful creatures — stylish and bewitching (like the Dark Geisha) or mysterious (like the Onna-bugeisha, a female warrior) — belonging to the Japanese tradition. It’s a world where people sleep in capsules and ancient history is written on the naked back of a woman.
Abstractions and Sounds
The universe was created with macro shots in studio. Whilst the Big Bang was augmented in post production. In keeping with the first episode of The Dark Side of Japan, we used point-of-view and close-up shots of the rider. These were shot in Tokyo.
This part of the saga is set to the rhythms of Mystical Redemption track from the album Against, by Franky B & The Cryptic Monkeys.
